1、Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write an essay on the saying What is worth doing is worth doing well. You should write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words.

Part Ⅱ Listening Comprehension

Section A

Directions: In this section, you will hear two long conversations. At the end of each conversation, you will hear four questions. Both the conversation and the questions will be spoken only once. After you hear a question, you must choose the best answer from the four choices marked A, B, C and D.

    B．T ……此处隐藏93559个字…… ，英译时应注意和不同名词搭配的介词。搭配in的有“茶馆”(teahouses)、“剧院”(theaters)和“无数家庭”(countless Chinese families)，而“广播电视”(radio and television)和“电影屏幕”(movie screens)则与on搭配，翻译时应合理安排名词短语的位置。

    5．第2段第3、4句存在因果关系，不妨考虑合译为一句，也可按原句分译。“小说的影响力超越国界”可译为the influence of sth. has spread/gone/reach beyond borders的句式。参考译文在动词前加入副词well或far，表达“远远”的强调意味。

    6．第2段第4句中，“越来越多的”可表达为more and more+名词或a(n) increasing/growing number of+名词的结构。句子最后有两个四字词“生动感人、趣味盎然”，这是汉语特有的语言特色。为在英语译文中同样体现文学性，可另用一种修辞手法，弥补英文无法还原中文语言特点的遗憾。此处可考虑使用三个-ing形式的形容词living、touching、interesting，使译文读起来既押韵，又能完整且准确表达“生动感人、兴趣盎然”的含义。
